My primary research interest is how message design strategies, especially framing, can differentially impact individuals’ willingness to engage with political information. More specifically, I am interested in how message design can facilitate persuasion and reduce biased processing of ideologically motivated topics. My previous work has examined these questions in the contexts of climate change and renewable energy, health promotion behaviors, and ballot language. Methodologically, I primarily work with online experiments, although I also do behavioral and psychophysiological (eye tracking) lab studies.
